Story

As a little girl, I always felt unique, surrounded by a strong village that supported me in pursuing my wildest dreams. My village consisted of faith, family, a close circle of friends, and educators who saw something in me, even when I couldn't see it myself. To me, a village is made up of those who show up during the highs, lows, and everything in between. A village is community. A village is strength. A village is a lifetime.

My childhood village carried me through both life and my academic career at Shenandoah University. There, I learned the power of identity, individuality, purpose, community, and advocacy. Creating my own narrative set the foundation for my future, opening my eyes to limitless opportunities. A class project that involved creating a mock business inspired the vision for my private practice. That project taught me about responsibility, developing effective initiatives, and the importance of hard work—because when you put it on paper, it becomes a reality.

Transitioning from student to clinician, I realized I still needed my village's support. However, I also discovered that a village grows as you enter different environments and build new connections. In my early experiences, I recognized strengths and gaps that only someone in my position could truly empathize with. As I continued to grow, I realized that in order to be a part of change, it was time to bring my wild dreams to life.
